About Dr. Subong
Dr. Amador Subong joined The Retina Group of Seattle after 12 years practicing retina and vitreous surgery for Kaiser Permanente in Northern California. There he also participated in the peer review committee (evaluating the practice patterns of his colleagues) as well as, for a time, the assistant chief of ophthalmology. He received his BS in Chemistry from Villanova University and MD from Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his Internship in Medicine at Sinai Hospital/Johns Hopkins and Residency in Ophthalmology at Geisinger Medical Center. His retina Fellowship was completed at The Ochsner Clinic Foundation.
In addition to the pursuit to stamp out blindness, Dr. Subong enjoys skiing in different parts of the world as well as exploring the local wilderness with his Land Cruiser. He uses his dog, Argus, a shepherd mix, as an excuse to go see new (dog-friendly) places. He is always in search of a good fishing hole, a stunning image to capture, a nice bike path or trail, and an exhilarating motorcycle ride.
